Ever had a bit of software you simply can't get rid of no matter how hard you try? Try this. Go into regedit (run/regedit), and find the following entry.
Hkey.Local.Machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall. You'll be faced with a column of meaningless number strings, click on any string and the translation will appear in the r/hand column. Once you find the right one, r/click on it and select delete. You might like to backup the registry first if you're unsure, (file/export) but I''ve done this dozens of times over the years with 100% effect.

Yep, I use that one too for the stubborn programs that won't go. It removes the entry from control panel add/remove (XP) or programs and features (Vista/W7). Then all you have to is go delete the program files.

That's handy, thanks Tel, ;D I've only used ccleaner and gone in and deleted any obviously remaining files, but some things hide too well, this is good to know.
Cheers, Alannah
