I have had all the tests and are ready to go. But ? as I am due for surgery on a Saturday and I have Barretts I might have to have it done during the week as they don't have all the back up staff at weekends, should something go wrong. Fingers crossed all will be well as I would like to get it done.

Wish you all the very best Jorg, I only popped in to see if you were around - you have been missed by your absence

Fingers crossed and hope the old surgeon is not having a bad day ! as you go to sleep you just hope you will be waking up again. Otherwise no telling where you might end up, up with the clouds or down in the boiler house ?

Hope it all went well jorg, I've had mine out and they nearly killed me doing it. Took me 6 months to recover from that one. My son Robert was a new born at the time on top of it. Now a days it's a in and out kind of surgery, but the recovery still takes a while...
All the best, jorg,

Thank you Judy, I am a week after surgery and so far things look ok, I am out walking around the town, not to far, been to the shops. Had it not been for that awful pain from the trapped oxygen in my chest for a couple of days all things considered you might say it was a perfect job.Stomach still feels a bit iffy at times and I'm not doing any heavy lifting otherwise fingers crossed all seems to be settling down.

It takes a while... it's been 25 years since mine and I still can't eat peanut butter. Stay clear of real greasy foods if you can for the time being.
You'll be able to eat normally later but you have to work up to it... you know... baby steps...

It's just two weeks since my operation and so far all is going well Judy, my stomach is still a little painful and where they have filled the holes with glue instead of stitches it's all hard otherwise so far so good.I am keeping away from greasy food although I never used to eat to much of that anyhow, had my first glass of wine since Christmas as well !
