It was a little hard to take a great shot with a heap of weeds growing near and through the lavender, but this was as good as I figured I could get. What do you think folks?

It wont be hanging on my wall any time soon Kev, it a good photo just not for me. I think it lavender looks better taken from a distance. I also think its looks better in the wild and not in straight rows. The foreground worked well and this is my interpretation of it, they wont be hanging on my wall either.

Thanks Jorg. Ray knew I wanted to get some pics of lavender, and took me here especially to get some shots of it.
Hmmmm .... Looks a bit too contrasty to me Ken. There are some lavender fields up near where Stacey, my daughter lives. They should be growing at the moment. Next time I go up there, i'll be able to get a shot over the rolling hills of lavender. I know exactly where to take the shot for best effect, as i've been there before when the fields were empty and devoid of all plant life.
These were taken last winter before the lavender was planted...
That's a Magpie in the photo. They are normally Black and White. These up here are Black and dirty Red.... lol

I was getting a bit arty farty with it Kev, that's why the contrast has been pushed right up.
I think the middle picture of the 3 would look lovely, with the lavender where the dirt is with the hills in the background.
That last picture I really find interesting, its got all sorts in it and I really like it. I would be tempted to push the contrast a little bit and force a little bit more colour into it. Other than that, I think its really great. I like to keep thing looking as natural as I can, but sometimes nature needs a little shove if the suns not right.
A big picture taken properly, doesn't need to be changed. Once you start reducing the size, the more artistic you have to become. When you make pictures like I do, with different exposures and by different photographers. It can really do your head in, trying to get them to look right. I don't worry too much when I'm playing about, but I do have my lucid moments.

You're supposed to salute and say "morning Colonel" when you see a magpie! (old English superstition)

Migawsh! We'd be saying and doing it ten times a day. They are pretty common around here. I feed a couple of them meat, in our back yard. Nice birds when they trust you.
