Mirtle.
Novatech nPro N1712 - 17" Intel Core i7 3610QM 3rd Gen Quad Core Mobile Processor 2.3 GHz - 16 GB DDR3 Memory - 960 GB Crucial M500 SSD - DVD Writer - NVIDIA GT630M 1GB Graphics. Primary printer, HP Officejet H470, A4 on Bluetooth. Secondary printer, Brother MFC-6490CW, A3 on wireless.
It looks like she need a good wipe over, I had just taken the plastic protection off before taking the picture. Not super on battery, but I get 3.5 hours before charging and I suppose thats not bad for a 17.3 inch laptop. In that time I downloaded 1034 photos from my camera; played around with PSP Photo Pro, did some printing and browsed the internet. So I had used her much the same as I would normally. I use my trackball with the touchpad disabled, as I hate them things. Shes the first laptop I've had that actually works like a real computer, even on power saving mobile settings.

Well Mirtle is fully upgraded, theres not a lot else I can do to her. I think they build these things for an SSD, she got very warm with a mechanical disk. The hard drive compartment isn't very well ventilated, unlike the motherboard, CPU and memory. Shes very cool now with the Crucial M500 in her. Shes maxed out with 16 GB RAM and goes like a train. Its great to have a decent sized screen on a mobile computer that works like a real one. I now have a top shelf laptop and change out of a grand.
I have just ordered one of these Logitech wireless trackballs:
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0042BBR2S/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I dont like any touchpad at the best of times, but this touchpad is a squeezy, twiddly, turny, bloody thing, like the touchscreen on a mobile phone. At least it can easily turned on and off using a hotkey, now I have found out how to do it. Its the only thing I dont like, but it would be the same no matter what I bought. I've been using a little Belkin Mini Mouse, but its old and not very good. Once I get this trackball, I will be able to do everything I can do on a desktop. I have never been able to do graphics work properly on any laptop before, but now I have the screen size and enough RAM to use PSP Photo Pro.
I'm off to my country retreat at the end of next week, at least I will be able to post photos as I take them. Thats if it stops raining long enough to take any. Surrey was suffering from drought, now my mothers garden is like a lake.

I use the corded Logitech Marble on BB Jorg and get on fine with it. As well as the fact its wireless, it looks like it more controllable than its earlier cousin. They claim the batteries last about 18 months, your lucky if you get 18 days out of some of them that I've had.

I love this new trackball Jorg, its even easier to use than the Marble. Having used the Marble for quite a while, I'm used to this M570 already. I think I will get another for BB. Its an odd shape, but it really comfortable to use.
