Nice clear photos Judy, colours are really vivid. It's my favourite flower the Paeony, but it always blooms in our rainy season (all year these days) and becomes weighted down with water, so they droop. . . . . . No Ken, they aren't male and they haven't been drinking.

I've got a tomato stand holding mine up. It flopped right over with all the rain we've had. Gladiola's are my favourite but the Peony has become the favourite as well. I usually can't wait until it blooms every year. It actually came from the last place we lived. 20 years ago we move to where we are now and I loved the peony plant so much at the old place that I split it and brought it with me. It took a few years to start blooming again, but once it did, it hasn't disappointed. Here it is today, finally, in full bloom....

That is a lovely plant Judy, beautiful colour. My mother planted a white one about 60 years ago, its an old type single flower. Its not particularly spectacular, but it has lots of flowers every year.

I love them, they are huge, about 6 inches in diameter.

Great job, Judy! I think the ones with water drops on them are more dramatic.

Thanks, my poor Peony now after being beaten and pulverized by the recent wind/rain storms we've had lately. The one of the last blooms on it still in tack... We just now have gotten power restored after being without power for 22 hours. With us, that means no water because our water pump is electric. Thank goodness we keep 5 gal jugs of water on hand. This outage was a doozy.

Not that we ever need them much Judy, but I have two generator sets, One is the little 1.2 kva we used during the floods which proved to be a tad small for running the fridge, etc, and now a 4.3 kva monster that lives on our verandah upstairs in case we have a repeat episode. It will power the whole house. I'm going to build that in to it's own box, and have it wired into the house electrical system, so all I need to do is flip a changeover switch.

Yes they are handy for sure. We borrowed one of my Dad's... he was using the other one because they are on the same street as me therefore their power was out as well. The one we borrowed was a small one that would only power the fridge and that was about it.
We'll get one sometime, probably a used one.
